Are you ready to get down and DIRTY? Explore native species of insects from wetlands to the river to the city. Examine insects’ contributions to our planet. Examine up-close how insects are classified and named. Identify your “inner insect” and meet other bug friends. Attend Miss Spider’s Tea Party!
Journey to the Center of the Earth
Start at Mt. Everest and travel across the continents, then to the center of the Earth. Unearth the mysteries of the Earth’s layers and examine how Natural Phenomona such as Tornados, Tsunamis, earthquakes, and volcanos occur. Identify the 7 wonders of the Ancient World. Design a new wonder of your own!
Totally Ballistic
Newton said, “What goes up must come down.” We’ll see about that...Launch rockets, candle kites, cannons, tennis ball morters and sling a catapult from SciTech’s own backyard. Design your own rocket and prepare for blast-off! Who said Rocket Science was just for NASA? (Please note- for the July 25-29 Totally Ballistic Summer Camp: we have expanded the ages for this camp. Look for the 11-14 year old Totally Ballistic Camp on the order page. If your camper is 8-10 yrs. - just register as an 11-14 year old and it will go through) Kids of all ages have Fun at Totally Ballistic Summer Camp!
Green Power

Your mission is to save the Planet! This camp will explore the exciting science behind New Energy Sources, the effects of pollution on land, in the air, in our own Fox River, and how you can make a difference. Discover how to go green with the help of cutting edge home made science techniques that you can use at home. Learn the Power of Green Power and become an Ecological Super Hero!
Jurassic Journey
Travel Millions of years back in time to see how the dinosaurs lived. Investigate what caused their extinction. Be a Paleontologist and work to find and identify dinosaurs in our Dino-Dig Pit. Visit our Old Mastodon friends at Phillips Park.
Kitchen Chemistry
Cooking is Chemistry with a purpose. Unravel the mysterious workings of ingredients such as salt, vinegar, baking soda, cornstarch and sugar. Learn how YUMMY reagents and catalysts can taste! Identify which ingredients DON’T mix! Wrap up the week with an offering of the concoctions you created in the kitchen for a fun-tastic Feast. Bon Appetite!
Robotics:

Build and Battle your own Go-Bot creations using Lego-Mindstorms in a week of creation and destruction. Go-Bots will be built to code and perform tasks for daily challenges. Bring your Big Ideas!

Before and After Care
- Before Care ( 8 am- 9 am.): $25 per child per week
