After Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday (November 28th) helps remind us to support our community organizations. More locally, #ILGive is a one-day, statewide movement to do good in our own communities.

In 1988, Ernest Malamud, a physicist at FermiLab, had a dream for the future. He reached out to his friends, his co-workers, and his community and together, they created a reality that has touched MILLIONS of people. What started as one man’s dream of the future has become the reality of SciTech Hands On Museum where children and adults alike explore knowledge and discover concepts and imagine THEIR future.

SciTech Hands On Museum was one man’s dream and on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 we invite YOU to join in the dream! We are asking that community members and museum supporters consider contributing to our digital fundraiser and participate in #GivingTuesday and #ILGive. This is the very core of what made one man’s dream an influential and growing reality. Community members coming together to build something new. While any contribution is greatly appreciated, SciTech would like to highlight the following gift amounts:

A gift of $30

For $30, a family of four can spend a day having a blast with bubbles and exploring electricity.

Spending time together as a family helps busy parents reconnect with their children. Children tend to share more information about their lives while enjoying an activity. SciTech is also an opportunity for children to demonstrate their own knowledge! Many children attend a field trip at the museum and want to show their parents what they have discovered.

On Tuesday, November 28th, 2017 SciTech will kick off our 30th year and we will be open for 30 hours of STEAM education, from November 27th at 6:00pm to November 28th at midnight. Individuals who donate $30 or more will receive admission for 4 people to the museum, a VIP access pass to all 30 hours of activities and refreshments throughout the day.

A gift of $100

For $100, you could send a family of 5 to SciTech for a year! A basic family membership provides free daily admission to the museum.

Children who are exposed to STEAM education are prepared to be excellent problem-solvers, creative collaborators, and thoughtful risk-takers. They learn to experiment with the tools around them. Repeating experiments is an important step in understanding why and how things work. Families can visit regularly with a membership, as well as take advantage of special programs and discounts.

A gift of $300

entering grades 4-5

For $300, you can send a child to a full week of SciTech Summer Camp!

Conquer brain-drain with adventures in STEAM! Children have the opportunity to discover science, technology, engineering, arts, and math through Hands-On activities. Taught by certified teachers, SciTech Summer Camps explore new topics every year. In 2017, campers explored stock markets, created films, solved crimes, and cooked up recipes. Every year, SciTech offers scholarships for families with demonstrated financial need. Supporting SciTech Summer Camps is an educational gift that a child will remember forever.

A gift of $3000

Imagine the possibilities…!

In 2017, SciTech introduced five new exhibits. Many of the exhibits on the museum floor are designed and built on-site in the SciTech Workshop. A gift of $3000 will help SciTech develop new programs, improve the facility, and invest in traveling exhibits in the coming year. Celebrating 30 years of hands-on exploration of science and technology, you will help lead SciTech into its next 30 years of success!
