Our History and Academics
Thanks to a generous grant from the Dunham Foundation in 2011, SciTech Hands On Museum established one of the first STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) based curriculum schools in the country.
Limited to 40 very fortunate children (aged 3 to 7 years); the SciTech STEM Discovery Academy, housed in the museum, offers children exceptional tools for their future.
The SciTech STEM Discovery Academy has academic programs teaching science, math, language arts, writing and more. In addition, the program includes specialty lessons in Spanish and American Sign Language, computers, music and art appreciation classes, dance lessons and a weekly visit to our library adjacent to the museum. Daily snacks and hot lunches are organic, allergy free and locally grown. Our teacher to student ratio is a mere 1 to 6 so every student will receive individualized attention.
We aspire to be a remarkable and unique school of academic excellence. It is our priority to make SciTech STEM Discovery Academy a unique learning experience through our innovative programming. This includes a challenging curriculum, creative and engaging teaching strategies, incorporating STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) programming with emphasis on the development and growth of the whole child. SciTech STEM Discovery Academy students will be supported by dedicated, professionally trained teachers who encourage creativity, promote discovery, and support individual learning styles. We are passionate about providing a dynamic and effective institution in a safe, nurturing environment.
